What is Stevia?
Steviolglycosides are sweeteners extracted from the Stevia plant, a small green herb originating in Paraguay. Stevia is 300 times sweeter than ordinary sugar so only a small amount is needed. Standard chocolate is bulked out with ordinary sugar - in Stevia chocolate this is replaced by healthy fibres such as inulin. The added bonus of Stevia is that it does not have laxative effects of normal no sugar added chocolate.
